Victor Vekselberg is a Ukrainian-born Russian oligarch and owner of a conglomerate known as the Renova Group. He is the fourth-richest person in Russia, worth $13.6 billion, as of 2015. He is close to Vladimir Putin, and has overseen projects to modernize the Russian economy.
In April 2018, the US imposed sanctions on Vekelsberg and 23 other Russians.
He has been questioned by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office about hundreds of thousands of dollars his company’s US affiliate paid to Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen.
