
Lev Leviev is a Soviet Uzbek-born Jewish billionaire with interests in diamonds, real estate. He has ties with Vladimir Putin and has been described as an “oligarch.”
He was a partner in the Russian company Prevezon Holdings, which was pursued by the Justice Department for using Manhattan real estate deals to launder money stolen from the Russian treasury. This was lead by US Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Donald Trump.
In 2015, Jarad Kushner bought part of the old New York Times building from Leviev.
Rotem Rosen has been called Leviev’s right-hand man.
Leviev is the controlling shareholder in the financially troubled Africa-Israel. He owns diamonds mines in Angola and Russia.
